In addition to reducing the incoming wave energy, submerged breakwaters also cause a setup of the sea level in the protected area, which is relevant to the whole shadow zone circulation, including alongshore currents and seaward flows through the gaps. This study examines such a leading hydraulic parameter under the simplified hypothesis of 2D motion and presents a prediction model that has been validated by a wide ensemble of experimental data. Starting from an approach originally proposed by Dalrymple and Dean [(1971). Piling-up behind low and submerged permeable breakwaters. Discussion note on Diskin et al. (1970). Journal of Waterways and Harbors Division WW2, 423–427], the model splits the rise of the mean water level into two contributions: one is due to the momentum flux release forced by wave breaking on the structure, and the other is associated with the mass transport process. The decomposition of a monochromatic wave over a submerged plate is investigated experimentally in a wave flume. Bound and free higher harmonic modes propagating upstream and downstream the structure are discriminated by means of moving resistive probes. The first-order analysis shows a resonant behaviour linked to the ratio of the plate's width and the fundamental mode wavelength over the plate. The second-order analysis shows an energy transfer from the fundamental mode towards free harmonics propagating downstream the structure. This transfer is linked to the ratio of the width of the plate and the bound harmonic wavelength over the plate. We also performed experiments with a submerged step to compare the efficiency of both structures. The submerged plate is shown to be a more efficient breakwater than the step, at the first as well as the second-order.  相似文献

The grazing turbinid gastropod Lunella smaragda was sampled regularly over 3.5 y from precise sites of different microtopography and height on the platform shore at Goat Island Beach near Leigh, Northland, New Zealand. Growth is linear for over 3 y, and the year‐classes distinct. The position of the different size‐classes is related to both the shelter afforded by the microtopography, and to the height on the shore. The populations in the mid‐eulittoral turf flats, low eulittoral bare rock areas, and the sublittoral fringe are distinct, and there is a general movement down the shore with age and size. Wave action apparently dislodges the animals from higher areas when they grow to a critical size and transports them to sites lower on the shore, where wave disturbance is less. Field experiments with marked animals and laboratory studies with a wave tank confirm that the wave‐effected distribution is size related. However measurements showed that the ratio of foot attachment area to the shell area presented to the wave does not vary with animal size. The possible benefits of wave dislodgment and wave‐effected distribution are considered.  相似文献

A preliminary scuba survey of oligotrophic Lake Rotoma in 1972 revealed a vegetation mainly composed of native hydrophytes in which exotics were at an early stage of colonisation. In 1973 the presence of species was recorded in 5708 quadrats (625 cm2) at 1 m intervals along a total of 50 line transects placed systematically around the lake. Water depth was measured, and quadrat cover and substrate type were subjectively estimated. Species frequency calculations showed that the dominant vegetation pattern was a characean meadow of Chara fibrosa f. acanthopitys (A.Br.) R.D.W., Nitella leptostachys var. leonhardii (R.D.W.) R.D.W., and N. pseudoflabellata var. mucosa (Nordst.) Bailey. The charophytes extended over a depth range of 1–17.5 m on a wide variety of substrates and gradients. Native vascular plants were absent from many transects, and had a depth range only from 0 to 4.5 m, with most occurring above 3.5 m. The Low Mixed Community, found in shallow water less than 1.25 m in depth at the northeast end of the lake, provided this area with a high species diversity. Exotic hydrophytes had established in many areas around the lake. The distribution of Lagarosiphon major (Ridley) Moss and Elodea canadensis Michx. appeared to coincide with boating access and fallen submerged trees over a depth range of 0–6.0 m, although much of the available habitat had not yet been exploited. Emergent species were most abundant within the southwest inlet and also in the lagoons surrounding the lake where sheltered conditions and shallow gradients prevail.  相似文献

漓江水系汞的分布和污染研究   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
对漓江水系干流、支流、连体湖泊、较大的孤立湖塘和近岸水井设置40个采样点。水样采样周期为2个水文年,分枯水季和丰水季两次采样,现场测定水温、电导率、pH值等理化参数。系统采集水样112件、底泥样40件、水草样40件、近岸土壤样40件。底泥样用逐步浸提法进行不同形态汞分析。研究结果显示,干流河水、底泥和水草中汞的平均含量分别为0.12μg/L、0.20μg/g和0.032μg/g;主要支流河水、底泥和水草中汞的平均含量高于干流,分别为0.15—0.23μg/L、0.38~1.7μg/g和0.028—0.044μg/g。底泥中汞含量均高于近岸土壤汞含量。无论是干流还是支流,河水汞含量与底泥、水草汞含量有明显的相关关系。由上游至下游,漓江水系干流、主要支流河水样汞含量均不断增高,可高出源头河水汞含量的1.5—5倍。相应地指示重金属离子污染的参考指标——电导率值不断增高,河水的pH值亦逐渐增高。丰水期(5月至6月)河水中的汞含量(0.12—0.28μg/L)明显高于枯水期(9月至11月)河水中的汞含量(0.091—0.28μg/L)。不同断面河水汞含量均高于相应近岸井水汞含量。不同水体底泥中汞的形态分布一般顺序为:残渣态〉难氧化降解有机质结合态〉腐殖酸结合态〉碳酸盐和铁锰氧化物吸附态〉交换态〉易氧化降解有机质结合态〉水溶态。综合各项资料分析,认为漓江干流是桂林城市汞污染最大的汇。根据地表水环境质量标准(GB3838--2002),仅汞而言,漓江水系均达到Ⅳ类水质标准(河水中汞含量≤1μg/L)。漓江支流汞污染高于干流,对干流存在较大的污染风险。  相似文献

以自然种群高程分布为根据, 选择对潮汐浸泡耐性存在一定差异的白骨壤(Avicennia marina)、桐花树(Aegiceras corniculatum)和木榄(Bruguiera gymnorrhiza)为实验树种。对3种红树幼苗进行为期0d、1d、3d、5d、7d、14d的水淹处理, 测定其根部组织的过氧化物酶(peroxidase, POD)活性、超氧化物歧化酶(superoxide dismutase, SOD)活性、抗坏血酸氧化酶(ascorbic acid oxidase, APX)活性和过氧化氢酶(catalase, CAT)活性。水淹处理会导致植物根部组织受低氧胁迫从而破坏活性氧(reactive oxygen species, ROS)生产和消除的平衡, ROS大量累积给植物带来氧化损伤。实验测定与清除ROS有关的酶指标, 结果表明POD活性在1d至14d的水淹周期内随时间呈现上升趋势, 这可能与POD参与活性氧以及乙醇、乳酸等有毒物质的反应有关。CAT、SOD、APX活性均呈现应激上升后下降趋势, 由此推断该系列抗氧化酶在水淹胁迫发生前中期对消除红树植物根部组织大量产生的活性氧具有重要意义。抗氧化酶系在3种红树植物中的表达存在一定差异, 但整体仍呈相似的变化趋势。通过层次聚类法对各项酶活性指标分析后发现, 白骨壤抗氧化酶系的活性模式与木榄和桐花树的存在一定差异, 但没有发现木榄与桐花树抗氧化酶系统表达模式的明显差异。本研究旨在更好地了解红树林对水淹胁迫的生理适应机制, 为红树林生态系统保护与管理提供理论依据。  相似文献

研究了四种红树植物红海榄、秋茄、木榄、角果木幼苗在不同浓度重金属水溶液胁迫28天后的生理生化指标变化特征,包括可溶性蛋白含量、超氧化物歧化酶(superoxide dismutase, SOD)、过氧化物酶(peroxidase, POD)活性和氧化损伤标志物丙二醛(malondialdehyde, MDA)含量。研究结果表明四种植物叶片内的SOD、POD活性均呈现出先升高后下降趋势,10倍重金属水溶液中的红海榄,5倍重金属水溶液中的秋茄和木榄,以及1倍重金属水溶液中的角果木具有较好的抗氧化酶活性,能有效清除活性氧,减小氧化损伤。在同等浓度重金属水溶液处理下,MDA含量结果显示红海榄受损程度最轻,秋茄、木榄受损程度居中,角果木受损程度最重。红海榄抗重金属胁迫能力强于秋茄、木榄,角果木抗重金属能力最弱。上述四种红树植物对重金属的抗性结果说明红树科植物具有较强的抗污染能力,这对于我国红树林生态修复与保护具有重要的指导意义。  相似文献

植被对于泥石流源区的生态修复和物源稳定具有重要意义,其中植物根系的抗拉力学特性是影响植物护坡的主要因素之一。为了探究泥石流源区植物根系的抗拉特性,以都江堰市锅圈岩泥石流源区为研究区,在野外调查的基础上,通过重要值计算确定了源区典型草本植物并进行抗拉强度试验。研究表明,锅圈岩泥石流源区主要分布有寒芒、节节草等对恶劣环境适应性强的乡土植物,它们的根系平均分布深度在30 cm以内;根系抗拉力与根径呈幂函数正相关关系,抗拉力随根径的增大而增大。当根径0.50 mm时,抗拉强度与根径也表现出幂函数关系;当根径0.50 mm时,部分植物根系的抗拉强度值波动较大。不同植物根系的平均抗拉强度从大到小依次为铁杆蒿(106.24 MPa)、节节草(非节点处,30.79 MPa)、草地早熟禾(28.69 MPa)、小飞蓬(20.20 MPa)、多头苦荬(18.77 MPa)、寒芒(老根,14.87 MPa)、节节草(节点处,12.67 MPa)、寒芒(新根,8.29 MPa)。泥石流源区草本植物的根系抗拉力学特性良好,对稳固浅层土体和泥石流物源有积极作用。  相似文献
